Faro had 126mm of rain yesterday & a few km from where we had lunch was flooded - so much rain in one day.

So another day of packing & moving onto the final leg of our European trip. Jean & her friend Debbie drove us from Faro to Seville, a two hour trip & we left at 8.30am. Another wet day, however not as bad as yesterday. Lost an hour as Spain on daylight saving.

Deb & Jean took us around a small part of Seville for a few hours - it is so pretty. Went into Real Alcazar de Sevilla (Palace still used by the Spanish King & Queen). It had the most amazing gardens & also a tile & fan exhibition (some items dating back to the16th century). Went to a nice restaurant for tapas - lovely food & then made our way back to the car. They dropped us off at the bus station, with a very quick goodbye as the rain had started again in ernest. Took about 30 min to get to the airport. Our flight was delayed by 30min, am up in the air as I type this.

Cannot thank Jean & Ian H enough for looking after us so well, we have absolutely loved our time with them & hope to be back to see more of Portugal & their planned renovations / extensions completed.

Heading now to stay for 3 nights with our Spanish daughter (Marta, who played hockey for TEM & lived with us about 4 years ago) & her family. Unfortunately she has had to go to Madrid for work today & is due back tomorrow night - may be a few charades at her house given our lack of Spanish & her parents lack of English!!! Marta is the interpreter. Her brother Carles is kindly picking us up from the airport.

Arrived safely & so excited to see Margarita, Carlos & Carles - had a lovely dinner with them & with the aid of ITranslate app we had many laughs. Marta due home late tonight.
